Art trails and galleries to visit around Northumberland

Northumberland has a fantastic network of artists, from painters and sculptors, to crafters and ironworkers, many of whom display their work either on art trails or in local galleries. We’ve listed a selection below, grouped by area to help you plan an art inspired day out!

Art Trails 

Take a walk and enjoy some art en route! 

Kielder Water & Forest Park 

Kielder Water & Forest Park is home to a unique collection of art built up over the last 25 years. You can wander and hope to come across something or follow one of the well-marked trails.  

The Lowry Trail 

Lowry loved visiting Berwick – follow this trail to see Berwick through his eyes. 

Newbiggin Art Trail 

Showcasing modern, community and historical artwork, with the imposing ‘Couple’ by Sean Henry standing guard on the breakwater.  

 

The Coast
